About 3am...
3am Ideas, Inc. came to be in early 2004. It was the result of the long time relationship of two entrepreneurs who saw the market for businesses being woefully underserved with respect to how the businesses come to market and drive their message to their audience.

These two partners saw that for most businesses there was little or no one on their side to help them with advertising and marketing strategies. Unless you are a fortune 500 company (and for many, even if you are) the jungle that exists for delivering your message into is fraught with dangers, of the financial variety, and many "guides" who only want your money.

Many a night has a business owner been awake at all hours wondering what to do to get the message out about their product or service. In fact, for most of us, if you have not been subject to some insomnia, then you are a rare breed indeed!

When someone comes in to sell you something, you most often know what you are getting and what it is going to cost, and therefore, what a value you are or are not getting. But try to do that with advertising, with marketing. What are you getting? You spend the money, you invest the time, and you might even do some research, but really... what are you going to get? Do we ever really know? There had to be a better way.

Following his college career, Jim Durkee signed on with AT&T. From call center management, to marketing and sales, and on to the technology side of the house, Jim learned as much as he could about how messages get sent, and received, both by machines and more importantly to him, by humans. He worked on the original website development team that earned back-to-back "Site of the Year" awards. With the pending "tri-vestiture" of AT&T, he chose, rather than to continue on with an organization that would become known as Lucent, to move in his own direction and start his own web development firm. In a little over 5 years, his firm, based in Kansas City, grew to support well over 500 websites. Those websites, were to cover all fifty states, five continents, and two planets! Numerous awards were given to clients for the firms work, and even more were bestowed upon his firm as well. Following that experience, he started work on a book about his philosophies of how to market a company in the new media generation we now live in. That book, "How to land a C.A.R.P." (which stands for Customer Acquisition and Retention Program) is pending publication as you read this.

Jim is married, and a father of eight! His wife is a Registered Nurse, Aerobics Instructor and is working towards her Masters. Given the number of children, we would run out of digital ink if we tried to apprise all of their accomplishments here!
